The Power of a Decision
One of the great paradoxes of life is this:
How do I stay grateful and satisfied with what I currently have, while also desiring something far greater than what I'm currently experiencing?
Grateful but not satisfied.
How do we actually live that? How do we make the shift into something greater while being satisfied with what we have right now?
Let's start with the desire piece.
We all have desires. Desires are the things that lead us towards a bigger and better version of ourselves. A more expansive version. One that receives more from life, that has more capacity for love and wealth, more capacity to experience the fullness of being human.
Desire is a big part of being human. You can't get rid of it. And if you try to remove it, most of the time that's just emotional suppression dressed up as being spiritual.
So it's healthy to we allow ourselves to have big desires.
The question is how do we bridge the gap.
I find it comes down to a decision. A decision to change something in your life. And usually it's around not tolerating something anymore.
You can be completely satisfied with your current life, to a degree. You can be grateful for what you have, for the magic and the miracles you've experienced in all their different shapes and forms.
But it still takes a decision to pull yourself out of that and into a new world where you're experiencing something different.
For me, I notice I'll think and ponder something for quite some time. I zoom out as much as I can and look at my current behaviour. My current way of operating. Who I perceive myself to be. My identity.
As I become more aware of my behaviours and my desires, I start to see the disconnection between the two. I can see why I don't have the thing I say I want.
When I start to see that, it takes a bit of time for me to catch up to what it is I actually need to decide.
Usually the decision is about embodiment.
What am I not embodying? What am I not living, compared to what I am living today?
This is what I mean by that:
Embodiment in this case is the default identity you live as day to day.
Our behaviours and our actions live at a certain level of embodiment.
If I'm an entrepreneur and I identify as an entrepreneur, I embody the traits and characteristics of one. I take the actions. I have sales conversations. I understand what sales is, what marketing is, what I need to do to structure a business so that it can be fruitful.
So I look at my embodiment first.
For me recently, I've been focused on deepening my relationship with sales. This came from a deeper reflection I've been sitting with over the last couple of months, some childhood stuff that was surfacing. I saw it clearly. There were things I wasn't experiencing because my level of embodiment as an entrepreneur wasn't correlated to the position I wanted to be in.
So I started to look at sales and marketing. Not as tactics, but as the thing that would bring me closer to where I want to be by embodying someone with a deeper relationship to both.
This is a constant evolution, across many areas of life.
A previous decision worked incredibly well for me, back in 2023.
That's when I made the shift in my business away from the marketing agency and providing marketing services. I let go of the team I had and moved in a direction that was more guidance, consulting and education based. My true calling, this is where Modern Mastery was born.
When I was making that shift, there was a massive gap in my embodiment. I was embodying the traits and characteristics of a marketer who did the service for people.
Closing that gap was on me.
In terms of skill set. In terms of being able to see myself in a new way. In terms of getting paid for my time and intuitive abilities and building products, rather than doing a marketing service for somebody else.
I closed the embodiment gap by going into various communities and provided guidance inside them using my network. 300+ clients over the space of two years. Weekly, monthly sessions online and doing live events with the people leading those communities.
Doing that closed the gap between where I was and who I wanted to be in a very short space of time, because I jumped into the deep end and did all the things I was afraid of.
I was facing fear and self-doubt. I had to gain experience. I was speaking in front of people at events. I was putting myself in rooms with much wealthier people, where there was an obvious gap between who I was and how I was showing up in the world.
All of it was uncomfortable and I learned so much. It led me to embody the person who had the result and the business I wanted doing what I love.
There's a decision you can make right here, in this moment, that can completely transform your life.
What trips us up is thinking that making a decision looks like thinking about it.
It doesn't. A definite decision is something you feel invigorated by.
That thing with sales I mentioned earlier. I made a committed decision to myself that I'm not going to operate in an old way anymore. I'm going to operate in a new way.
I'd went into a deep meditation, and as I cleared that block and moved it out of the way, it was like it had never existed, I felt a heaviness lift from my body.
Then, I felt an invigorated, electric energy move through me. The new decision changed my energy. It changed my state of being.

There are moments in time where you truly feel like you've made the decision. That's when things shift for you. When you make the decision, everything else starts to shift as a byproduct of it. The energy you bring to that decision is what moves the outer world around you.
Up until then, it's a thinking about it.
It's an "I want to do that" but then going back to what's familiar.
All of that is kind of making the decision, but not really.
And it doesn't shift anything at all.
It just builds, until it becomes intolerable not to be experiencing what you want.
That's when you know you're going to change your life forever.
When you get sick enough of your own patterns.
That's where the true power is, because we get angry about it. A lot of people will say anger is bad, but anger is a powerful emotion that gets you to move.
When we let ourselves really feel it and flow with that energy, it moves us into courage. It moves us into action. It moves us into doing something about it.
And when we do something about it, we change our lives forever.
That's usually the decision someone makes right before their life changes.
So, for you.
What is becoming intolerable in your life that you keep pushing off to the side, because you tell yourself it's fine, or it's enough, or it's comfortable?
Can you allow yourself to want something bigger?
To stretch beyond what you believe is possible for you?
And can you make a definite decision to change it forever?
