This letter is about trusting the knowing that's already inside you, and using it to navigate business decisions, life moves, and the direction you're taking yourself in.

If you cultivate this, two things happen.

You stop needing to fact check every move. You start trusting yourself in a way that makes decisions feel obvious instead of stressful. Bigger risks feel less like gambles because you know, in your body, that you're going in the right direction.

And people feel it. You walk around with a certainty that isn't performed. It's magnetic because you actually are certain. That's the difference.

This is one of the strongest skill sets I've cultivated over the last few years, and it's one of the most important to have in the times we're living in.

Before we get into it, let me say this upfront.

There's no such thing as masculine or feminine intuition. Intuition is intuition. We all have it.

What we're really talking about here is something a mentor of mine once called man-tuition. It's a playful name, but what it points to is the ability to tap into your deeper knowing. The proper name for it is Claircognizance (more on that later)

I'm framing it this way because it's how it was passed to me, and because the word masculine here isn't pointing at gender. It's pointing at a quality, a kind of grounded, directional certainty that both men and women have access to. So when I say masculine intuition in this letter, that's what I mean.

Now let's get into it.

Why this matters now.

We've lived in a world that heavily focuses on the mind. What you need to think about, what you need to do, what you need to take action on. All of that is part of the journey.

But what we haven't spoken about for a long time as a humanity is intuition. This inner feeling. This sense of what the next move is that's right for us.

Many people refer to intuition as a feeling. That's one type. What we're looking to do is cultivate this sense of knowing.

An inner knowing where you know that you know that you know. You do not need to fact check. You do not need someone else's approval. You just know. You walk around with a magnetic energy because you are so certain. Not because you're bullshitting, not because you're pretending, but because you just know — and you trust that within yourself.

It's an inner compass. And it's been one of the strongest skill sets I've cultivated over the last number of years. We all have access to this.

The three clairs.

When we talk about intuition, there are a few different forms it takes.

  • Clairvoyance is vision; seeing beyond the physical.
  • Clairsentience is feeling; the feeling in the gut or body that something's off.
  • Claircognizance is knowing; that inner certainty that you just know.

There are three other types we're not getting into here, but these are the ones you may be familiar with. Personally, Right now, I'm strongest in Clairsentience and Claircognizance, the feeling and the knowing, which has served me extremely well in life and in serving others.

Where this played out for me.

Late 2022, I was running a marketing agency. I was doing inner work, exploring what it means to shift my identity, shift my beliefs, looking at my inner wiring, my past experiences, family, childhood. Getting clear on where I wanted to go in life.

And I started to feel this sense (clairsentience) that something was off. Even though I was hitting the goals I'd set out for myself. A younger version of me would have been so proud. But something still felt off. There was a level I wasn't accessing.

Things were going well in the agency. I could have kept growing it. Clients coming in. I was inside my clients' communities coaching their people, doing services for them. There was flow, it was working. But something felt off for me.

I was living in Europe at the time. One moment, I was watching a course module from a life purpose course, pulling all the different threads trying to find the thing I was missing. And the person in the video said:

"Your pain is your greatest purpose."

That broke me down. Something heavy moved in my body. My sensitivity started to activate and I began to explore it. Why was this line resonating?

It brought me to an understanding that there was something waiting for me to step into. Something waiting for me to take the jump.

What's funny is about three years previous, I was watching a lot of personal development and spirituality content. One of my biggest virtual mentors at the time was Bob Proctor, may he rest in peace. I remember consuming that content and saying to myself, there's something here that's lighting me up. I want to do something like this in my own way.

But I didn't have the confidence at that time. So I went the marketing route instead.

And that line, your pain is your greatest purpose, reminded me that I hadn't trusted my knowing back then. When I felt that pull, I didn't trust it.

It's not a bad thing I went the other direction. I got the skills. I got the experience. I saw how my life could look doing other things. I developed character. It's all good. But I didn't trust the calling.

So I started to look at my past, my patterns, the things that had caused me pain. And it led me towards what I do for work today. Because that moment was the moment I leaned into trusting the knowing I'd already had access to but hadn't fully trusted.

This is a big trust game. Trusting the knowing. Trusting the feeling. Taking the leap.

I packed everything up. Left Spain. Sent a suitcase back to Ireland to my old family home, and I left with about 7kg in my suitcase to go to Asia. That kickstarted this whole journey of going deeper into myself and starting the business I now run today, which I love with all my heart and all my soul.

That moment of transition was me trusting the knowing I'd had all along. The claircognizance telling me: I know this is for me. I know this is right. I know this is my path. Now I've just got to jump.

I didn't know all the steps. I didn't know what was coming next. I didn't know what the next three years would be. But what I did know was... this is what I'm meant to do.

The first step.

That's really the first step in cultivating a deeper sense of knowing.

What is the thing right in front of you that you're ignoring, or not paying enough attention to, that's pulling you in a direction that feels scary? It feels like a courageous move. It's bringing up a lot of doubt. But there's something in you telling you it's right.

That's how you know.

And we can only really get to know this by taking the leap and trusting we'll be supported along the way.

That journey for me knocked its own set of dominoes. I connected with incredible people, mentors, communities. At one point I was coaching over 300 clients inside other peoples communities. And it led me to today. The most amazing decision I've ever made in my life. It came from trusting that knowing.

The unlearning.

So how did I start to cultivate this on a deeper level?

Because this wasn't always the case. For many years, these senses were shut off. We don't live in a world that supports these things. Let's be real. We don't live in a world cheering you on to trust your intuition. Most of us, in school, in the systems, none of this is encouraged. Everything is based on obedience, taking orders, outsourcing your authority to somebody else instead of trusting what's within.

So this is a big unlearning process. Understanding the ways we've been taught to operate in the world are not the optimal way for us to thrive, and it's up to us to take a stand, trust ourselves and go in a different direction.

Some of you might think that's not possible for me. That's for other people. That's for wizards with magic powers. Simply not the case. We all have access to these things. It's just how willing are you to bring them online by accessing your sensitivity and allowing yourself to be in tune with more of your feeling.

Letting yourself feel.

The next big thing for me was allowing myself to feel emotions fully.

This took time. As a boy growing up, a lot of my emotions were suppressed. I felt it was wrong to feel emotions. Wrong to cry. Wrong to feel sad. Wrong if I wasn't always in a good mood. Incredibly frustrating, because there were a lot of times I felt a heavy load of emotions and didn't know how to express them. I had no tools for that.

I had to go on the journey of cultivating that myself. Making myself feel safe to feel. Getting the right people around me to support it. I've had incredible people in my life I'm so grateful for, mentors, coaches, educators, and friends I made along the way. But for a long time, I didn't have that.

If you don't have that, I understand. It's not easy. But you can start to create it from within by simply allowing yourself to feel.

I had a beautiful conversation with a client today. We were on the phone and we got emotional, because there was so much being said. We talked about this emotional side that's coming online, especially for men. Your sensitivity is in your emotions. Your ability to connect with that. Your ability to allow yourself to feel.

It's not wrong to feel anger. It's not wrong to feel frustrated. It's not wrong to feel sad. It's not wrong to feel anxiety. All of these feelings are just your body moving through whatever you're moving through. There's nothing you have to do in the moment of feeling to change it. The feeling is just there to be felt.

You don't try to control the river by putting your hands in and redirecting it. You just let the river flow. Emotions are the same.

Allowing yourself to feel is a big part of this. Because as you do, you unlock more of your sensitivity. You remove the barriers around emotions. You allow yourself to be a human being, with emotions, and feel them.

Even getting to that point can be challenging. For me, music, a movie, I now tap into these things more than ever, and I'm feeling all sorts of things day to day. But before that, there were just moments where emotion would come out. And the only thing I can really say to you in those times is: let it come out. Hold yourself. Remove the judgment. Let yourself be in that moment without feeling like it's wrong or like it's affecting your identity.

The narrative that needs to go.

This is a big thing many men go through (I work with a lot of guys, I see it often) There's a narrative out there that if you feel emotion, feel sad, feel like crying, if that wasn't encouraged as a child or throughout your life, you're going to feel like it's wrong. Then you have influencers and creators with the same narrative telling you that you're not a man if you cry.

It couldn't be further from the truth. It's actually embarrassing to hear big influencers with big audiences talk this way. It's misinformation.

Sensitivity is the superpower

When you allow yourself to feel and express in that way, you unlock more of your sensitivity. And when you unlock more of your sensitivity, you'll begin to understand, it's a superpower. Because it brings all of these intuitive abilities online, and gives you this inner sense of certainty.

As men specifically, we want certainty. We want to feel confident, sure in our direction. What better way to do that than to be tuned into what's going on around you, what's going on in your body? How are you feeling? This brings these abilities online. Then you can move forward with that certainty.

Because the other side of certainty, or confidence, whatever you want to call it, is this performed confidence. Pretending. Being the one who shows it but doesn't really feel it. That to me isn't certainty. It's not confidence. It's false confidence. A mirage. It's not real.

The real is when you tap into your ability to feel deeper. Let that come out. Let it guide you with this intuitive sense you're cultivating.

That deeper sense where you know that you know, and you're sure you know, because you just know. Nobody can mess with that.

Where this is going.

As you do this, you'll start to notice other people coming to you for guidance, for direction because this is what people are really looking for. And it's not available to just one person. It's available to everyone.

It's up to us as conscious leaders and people moving things forward in humanity to help people unlock this within themselves. So everyone can become a sovereign leader in their own life, and let that be the thing that moves everything else forward on a grander scale.

We're in an interesting time in the world right now. The next couple of years are going to be rocky. And this man-tuition we're talking about is going to be your sense of discernment. It'll bring you on the right path, or it'll lead you in an incredibly wrong direction if you don't know how to trust it.

Not only is this important for your own business decisions on an individual level, but there's going to be some uncharted waters to navigate over the next couple of years. We're going to need to cultivate this sense of intuition so we can discern what the right path is, for ourselves, our family, and humanity.

So with all that being said: you are the sovereign leader. Let that be something that ripples out from you.
